Pritchard Companies Host Golf Legend John Daly
for Exclusive Event
Fresh off his appearance on the #2 trending YouTube video with Bryson DeChambeau, Can I Break 50 With John Daly From The Red Tees?, legendary pro golfer John Daly brought the same adventurous spirit and sense of humor to a golf and commercial vehicle ride-and-drive event hosted in Iowa by Pritchard Commercial, Pritchard EV and the Legacy at the 19 Golf Course.
The exclusive invite only event, Driving with Daly, was a combination event that allowed the golf celebrity to experience the results of his expert input after the major renovation of the former Mason City Country Club, and Pritchard customers and partners to test drive the latest offerings from the 13 OEM vehicle manufacturers represented by the Pritchard Commercial and Pritchard EV, divisions of Pritchard Companies. These two Pritchard divisions provide nationwide coverage of ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV (electric vehicle) fleet solutions from pickup, van, and chassis procurement through upfit, delivery and service.
The Daly visit made for a perfect opportunity to offer customers and partners a curated experience. First, a commercial vehicle ride and drive event, allowing participants to get hands on experience with a wide array of ICE and EV inventory, including bare chassis and upfitted units, pedal assist e-bikes, and new-to-the-market offerings including Tropos. Following the Ride and Drive event, guests were treated to a dinner and concert at the Legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, where Daly gave an impromptu sampling of his musical talents along with the band on stage. The exclusive Driving with Daly event was culminated with a breakfast and company presentation, and a day on the course with Daly – a true golf legend known for his exuberance and sense of humor. Both were on full display during the best ball golf outing on Thursday when Daly used an actual shotgun for the event’s “shotgun start.”
“We value the relationships we have with our customers and partners above all else, and this is a great example of that,” said Jeff Stevens, Chief Commercial Officer. “We were thrilled to have the opportunity to show them not only the breadth of our product and service offerings, but to build those relationships and give them some fun memories that will last a lifetime.”
Daly visited the golf course in 2022 and offered several ideas for improvements that were incorporated into the subsequent renovation. The course, under new ownership and now known as Legacy Golf Course at the 19, features updates and improvements to all holes, including new greens and bunkers, a new course layout, and “Daly Tees” with expanded tee boxes offering a stiffer challenge to long-ball hitters and stretching some holes to 585 yards in length. “My favorite renovation has to be Bad Boy Corner,” said Daly. “We added a water feature to hole 11 and made the turn from 12-14 a lot more difficult. It’s the perfect place to partake in my signature beverage, Good Boy Vodka!”
